My Sims 2 isn't working right....?

I haven't played my Sims 2 in a while and I love my Sims 2 but when I put my disk in and started playing it. It made it look like I was downloading like all my expansions again even though I did that like in 2009 (lol). I lost all my houses and clothes that I downloaded from other sites. & I lost the families I made. Is there anyway I can get my stuff back? I don't know why it did this!?
