Why ruins as castles, the pyramides, the Sphynx, old temples, etc are not restored to their initial look?
Maybe because the restoration process would be regarded as alteration of history? Still, if Louvre, Versailles, the Sixtine Chapel or a painting, will be in some way alterated, wouldn't those treasures be repaired?
